2013-2014 School Year
The
Cornell-Weill IMAGINE Program does not anticipate making any
fellowship offers to the joint program for the academic year
2013-14. If you are interested in this program, however, you can
still make use of its resources by applying to either department
separately and inquiring about the possibilities with the faculty from
either campus.
Dual application
Because the graduate faculty at Cornell-Ithaca, and at Cornell-Weill
both need to have access to your application, we must ask you to fill
out applications forms both to the Graduate Field of Psychology at
Ithaca where you will find cognitive science and neuroscience faculty,
and to the Neuroscience Program at the Weill Cornell School of Medical
Sciences. Please note on both applications your interest in
the IMAGINE program and co-application. Although your
application must be dual, only one admission decision will be made, to
the joint program. If you would like to be considered in parallel
for one or the other program, that is also possible, however – simply
let us know. Both programs require transcripts, three letters of
recommendation, the GRE, and the TOEFL; there are no requirements for
specific courses.
In your application, please be sure to indicate one or two faculty research programs of particular interest to you on both campuses!
Funding
The principal means of graduate funding will be through the NIH-funded
predoctoral training program, whose stipends and conditions are fixed
at the federal level, and include stipend, tuition, health insurance
and support for travel to national research meetings. Four years
of funding through this mechanism are guaranteed for students in good
standing, with an additional year supported by a teaching or other
research assistantship, for a typical program length of five
years. Although NIH funding is restricted to US citizens, and
permanent residents, do not hesitate to apply if you are not in this
category, as other avenues of funding can also be found.
